Dr. Michelle Rosenberg was born and lived in New Jersey for most of her life and is a graduate from Pompton Lakes High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Judaic Studies from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She then moved to Washington, DC and worked for the State of Maryland and other political think tanks for several years. However, she realized that she could best utilize her degree in political science and her love of history by returning to New Jersey; She earned her Social Studies Teacher Certification through Ramapo College.
While gaining her tenure at Elmwood Park High School, teaching history, Michelle earned her MA in Educational Leadership, from Fairleigh Dickinson University, in 2005. Dr. Rosenberg worked in an administrative capacity for numerous school districts such as: Warren Hills Regional School District as a Social Studies, World Language, and ESL Supervisor; Mt. Olive, as the Middle School Vice Principal; and Guttenberg School District as both the Curriculum Director, Principal/Superintendent, and Superintendent.
Dr. Rosenberg completed her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Caldwell University in 2020. Her doctoral dissertation topic was, Holocaust Education and Bullying in New Jersey Schools. As the child of a Holocaust survivor, Michelle volunteers her time speaking to students and teachers about the Holocaust and Holocaust education. Dr. Rosenberg has been an adjunct professor at Montclair State University, in their Educational Leadership Department. She also mentors new educational leaders for the NJ Association of Superintendents and is in her eleventh year as the Superintendent of the Guttenberg School District. Dr. Rosenberg has two children, 21 and 25. Her son is studying Aerospace Engineering at the University of Maryland and will graduate in 2025, and her daughter is graduating from Temple Law School this May.
