The Guttenberg District is seeking Substitute Teachers and School Nurses who hold appropriate credentials. The district accepts candidates with instructional Standard Certificate, CEAS, CE, or a current County Substitute Certificate.

Bus Driver / Substitute Drivers

The Anna L. Klein School is seeking a dependable, safety-conscious, and student-focused Bus Driver to transport students safely to and from school and school-related activities. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing a safe and positive environment for all students.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport students on assigned routes and school trips.

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly school bus.

  • Follow all traffic laws, district policies, and safety procedures.

  • Maintain appropriate student behavior while on the bus.

  • Communicate effectively with school administrators, staff, parents, and students.

  • Report accidents, incidents, or mechanical concerns promptly.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Valid New Jersey Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.

  • Current Medical Examiner's Certificate.

  • Clean driving record.

  • Ability to pass all required background checks and drug/alcohol testing.

  • Experience transporting children is preferred but not required.

  • Ability to work well with students of all ages and abilities.

 


Bus Aide / Substitute Bus Aides

Help Make Every Ride Safe and Positive!

The Anna L. Klein School is seeking caring, dependable, and patient individuals to serve as Bus Aides. Bus Aides assist the Bus Driver in ensuring the safety, supervision, and well-being of students during transportation.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist students while boarding and exiting the bus.

  • Ensure students remain safely seated and follow bus safety rules.

  • Provide assistance to students with special needs as required.

  • Help maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful environment on the bus.

  • Communicate concerns or incidents to the Bus Driver and school administration.

  • Assist during emergency evacuations when necessary.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

  • Ability to work effectively with children, including students with special needs.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in emergency situations.

  • Must pass all required criminal background checks.
