As a lifelong resident of Guttenberg and a proud graduate of Anna L. Klein School, I am truly honored to serve the community that has always been my home.

I graduated from Saint Peter's University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education along with certifications as a Reading Teacher, Early Childhood Teacher, and Elementary School Teacher. I continued my education by earning a Master of Arts in Education and obtained certifications as a Principal/Supervisor, School Administrator, and School Business Administrator.

In 1989, I was appointed as the School Business Administrator, a position I proudly held for 37 years. Last year, I was honored to accept the role of Superintendent of Schools, allowing me to continue serving the students, staff, families, and residents of Guttenberg in a new capacity.

Throughout my career, I have embraced challenges and viewed them as opportunities for growth and improvement. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to give back to the school and community that shaped my life. It is both a privilege and a responsibility to lead the district I proudly call home, and I remain committed to ensuring that every student receives the highest quality education in a supportive and inspiring learning environment.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome back to a new school year at Anna L. Klein School!

I hope you and your families had a wonderful and relaxing summer. As we prepare to welcome our students back, I am filled with excitement and anticipation for all that the 2026–2027 school year will bring. Our school community is built on the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and reach their fullest potential, and I look forward to working together with our students, staff, and families to make this a successful year.

This year, our district will be focusing on “Back to Basics.” While technology has become an important and valuable part of education, we also recognize the importance of returning to the foundational skills that help students become strong learners, thinkers, communicators, and problem-solvers.

As part of our Back to Basics initiative, students will participate in non-technology days throughout the school year. These days will provide students with an opportunity to step away from screens and digital devices and return to some of the simple, traditional tools of learning such as, a pencil, a piece of paper, a book, and their own imagination.

There is something powerful about putting pencil to paper. Writing by hand encourages students to slow down, organize their thoughts, express their ideas, and develop their creativity. These activities will give our students opportunities to write, draw, brainstorm, solve problems, read, collaborate, and engage in meaningful learning without relying on technology.

Our goal is not to eliminate technology, but rather to create a healthy balance between technology and the essential skills students need to be successful. We want our students to be comfortable using the latest tools while also being confident in their ability to think independently, communicate effectively, create, and solve problems using the fundamentals of learning.

Throughout the year, we will continue to strengthen the basics of reading, writing, mathematics, critical thinking, communication, and creativity. We will also continue to provide opportunities for students to explore, question, collaborate, and develop a genuine love of learning.

As Superintendent, I am incredibly excited about the year ahead. Our students are at the heart of everything we do, and I am proud of the dedication and commitment of our teachers, administrators, and staff. I also recognize the important role our families play in supporting our children's success. When our school and families work together, our students benefit.

Thank you for entrusting us with your children each day. I look forward to seeing our hallways filled with the energy, curiosity, laughter, and excitement that make our school community so special.

Let's make this a year of learning, growth, creativity, and getting Back to Basics!
