Hi. I’m Sharon Rotundo, literacy-enthusiast and the Educational Director of Language Arts, Social Studies & Gifted & Talented.
Anna L. Klein School has been my professional home for over two decades, with 23+ years of teaching experience with the Guttenberg School District. I have a degree in English, a master’s certificate in Children’s Literature, and a master's degree in Educational Leadership. I am Teachers College-trained in Reading, Writing, & Instructional Coaching.
I’ve had the pleasure of teaching in both elementary & middle school settings. Most of my former students remember me as their Kindergarten or 1st grade teacher, but those that I run into more recently, remember when I taught them 8th grade Language Arts and helped them get ready for high school.
I credit these classroom positions with providing me with a unique perspective on literacy and student growth, an in-depth understanding about the way in which students learn how to read and write, and how curriculum plays an intricate role in that. I have also served for several years as the district’s Literacy Instructional Coach. It was in that position where I began my path to leadership upon realizing that I had a passion for working for teachers as well as students.
When I am not living and breathing literacy, I am a wife and a mother to 3 beautiful boys. On the weekends, you can find me on a sports field somewhere or cooking up meals for my family- all while dreaming of beach trips, which is how I spend my summers.
FUN FACT! I grew up in Guttenberg and I attended Anna L. Klein School from Kindergarten to 8th grade.
